Job summary

Barfield Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector in Atlanta, GA to support the Quality Control department. The role requires ensuring FAA regulations, airworthiness guidelines, and customer specifications are met for shop processes and parts.

The successful candidate will perform inspections, maintain documentation, and coordinate with the Director of Quality to ensure compliance and timely reporting of any defects.

Qualifications

• :Requires knowledge of FAA regulations and airworthiness requirements.
• :Experience with inspections of aviation components and documentation.
• :Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality control processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain FAA regulations and airworthiness records.
• Ensure inspection tools and test equipment are current.
• Verify no un-airworthy parts are released.
• Notify Quality Director of malfunctions or defects.
• Accept incoming materials and verify airworthiness.
• Inspect parts and record results per the manual.
• Oversee tagging and identification of parts.
• Prevent use of rejected or unserviceable parts.
• Maintain orderly files for work orders and inspections.
• Ensure life-limited materials are not past due.

We are looking to hire a dedicated Shop Inspector to join our team. The Shop Inspector will support our Quality Control department.

General:

TomakesuretheshopcomplieswithallapplicableFederalAviationRegulations, manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• MaintainandkeepcurrentafileofpertinentFAAregulations,AdvisoryCirculars, Type Certification Data Sheets, and Air-worthiness Directives.
• Assurethatperiodicchecksaremadeofallinspectiontoolsandtestequipment usedbythe shop and to remove from service anyitem found to be beyond its recertification due date. Assure current records of those inspections and tests are maintained.
• Determinethatnodefective,unserviceable,orun-air-worthypartsareinstalledin any component or articles released by the shop.
• NotifyDirector - Qualityof anycircumstance requiringthe execution of a malfunction and defectreport.SuchreportwillbefiledbytheAtlantastationwithintheprescribedtimeafter the malfunction or defect has been discovered, or FAA will be contacted for instructions.
• Accomplishfinalacceptanceofallincomingmaterialincludingnewparts, suppliesand the airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed outside the shop by contract.
• Conductpreliminary,hiddendamage,in-progress,andfinalinspectionofall articles processed bythe shop and record results as outlined in the manual.
• Overseethepropertaggingandidentificationofallpartsandcomponentsas outlinedin this manual.
• Seethatrejectedandunserviceablepartsarehandledinsuchawayastoprevent theiruse as serviceable parts.
• Maintainfilesofcompletedworkorderandinspectionformsinsuchamanner thatthefile pertaining to a specific item repaired can be readily located for review.
• SeethatallLife-Limitedproducts,suchasadhesive,sealantsandlubricantsare notkept beyond their “Do not use after” date.

Requirements and skills

• At least 3 years of Aviation experience as a QC inspector or Technician
• Knowledgeable with FARs
• Knowledgeable with inspection methods, equipment and tools to determine airworthiness of article or unit
• Abletoperforminspectionsonmaintenance,preventivemaintenanceoralterationsdone to articles
• Abletousemechanical,electronicandvisualinspectionaids
• KnowledgeofISO9000series
• Knowledge of basic electronic theory
