Job summary

HDT Global is seeking a Quality Inspector 1 to interpret engineering drawings and schemas, identify nonconforming units, and maintain accurate inspection records in ERP. The role involves manual inspection tools calibration, product testing routines, and periodic audits to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Overtime may be required in a fast-paced military and rugged industrial environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2–5 years related experience, proficient reading

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring schematics.
  • GD&T proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Strong communication and self-directed work style.
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Identifies units in need of repair and ensures they are segregated and deemed unusable.
  • Records variable data of inspections into ERP.
  • Assist with discrepancy notices for nonconforming material and red tag transactions.
  • Perform material movement transactions after completion of inspection process.
  • Will assist in gauge calibration process for all basic hand tools and gauges.
  • Will assist in the daily, weekly, monthly testing of product such as adhesion & salt spray product testing
  • Will assist in conducting first article inspections of product.
  • Will conduct monthly process audits as assigned.
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards.
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position demonstrates all competencies of a Quality Inspector 1.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • High school diploma
  • Two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring schematics
  • Experience in the use of inspection equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers and height gages
  • Experience in First Article and First Piece inspection process
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings. GD&T proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Abilty to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Experience in ERP systems, SAP desired
