Quality & Infection Preventionist Director (RN) - Crete

Location: US-NE-Crete

Overview: TABITHA'S PURPOSE: We empower people to live joyfully, age gratefully.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensures clinical record reviews, audits, and assessments are completed by established deadlines.
  2. Assists in coordinating the continuity of Senior/client care by assisting, directing, and monitoring nursing team members on unit/shift, assuring that Tabitha policies and procedures are followed and that state and federal regulations are carried out.
  3. Tracking and trending rehospitalization, ER visits, and assisting with case studies and root cause analysis on all hospital readmissions.
  4. Help assure compliance of policy and procedures in related areas (dressing changes, glucometer checks, showers, transfers, etc.)
  5. Collects information and develops reports for quality measures and metrics outcomes.
  6. Develops Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) system for preventing, identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections by following national standards.
  7. Track and trend infection control reports and implement/alter policy and procedures as needed.
  8. Conducts Infection Control and Clinical Safety rounds for all areas.
  9. Develops and facilitates antibiotic stewardship program that includes antibiotic use protocols and systems to monitor antibiotic use.
  10. Monitors wounds and collaborates with the physician to provide excellent nursing care/documentation to seniors/clients suffering from wounds.
  11. Educates and collaborates with nursing team in assessing and planning care for complex wounds.
  12. Assists in developing and implementing the seniors'/clients' plan of care in collaboration with the physician, other healthcare professionals, and/or the family/caregiver.
  13. Assists with ensuring adequate and effective team member ratios are in place for all shifts.
  14. Supports resident care activities, including activities of daily living, transfers, and other direct care tasks as required.
Qualifications

Communication: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English and medical terminology related to the job.

Physical Requirements: Ability to access the work area and perform duties safely using standard and specialized equipment. Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds demonstrating strength and agility.

Education: Successful completion of a Registered Nurse course of study.

Experience: At least three years of nursing experience as an RN. Experience in quality assurance and infection prevention preferred.

Credentials: RN license in good standing in Nebraska or other Nurse Compact state. CPR certification required. Must meet vaccination requirements.
