Job summary

Madera Community Hospital in Central California is seeking a Part-Time Peer Review Nurse to ensure EMR accuracy, medical necessity, and quality of care. You will review charts, identify trends, and prepare reports for clinical committees, while supporting peer review meetings and improvement initiatives.

Requires RN licensure in California, 5 years of nursing experience with quality improvement and utilization review, and proficiency with EHR data abstraction and critical thinking. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of Registered Nurse program, prefer BSN.
• Requires Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience, including experience in quality improvement and utilization review.
• Requires proficiency in data abstraction, EHR systems, and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clinical documentation, patient charts, and care processes to ensure quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve care, reduce risk, and prepare data for medical staff review committees.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of EMR to assess appropriateness and timeliness of care.
• Identify trends, risks, and variations in clinical performance, preparing summary reports for committees.
• Facilitate the peer review process and attend peer review meetings.
