Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a RN Quality Improvement Coordinator to lead performance improvement initiatives across medical staff and patient safety programs.

The role combines project management with clinical oversight, developing, coordinating and evaluating quality improvement activities, facilitating task forces, reviewing literature, and establishing indicators to monitor and improve care; includes medical record review and incident investigation.

Qualifications

  • RN license is required.
  • BSN is required.
  • 3+ years of QI-related experience preferred.
  • Experience in an acute care facility with leadership and QI facilitation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management and facilitation for quality initiatives.
  • Provide clinical oversight and support for development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Organize task forces, review literature and benchmarks, establish indicators for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Support continuous improvement, medical record review, and investigation of occurrences/complaints.
  • Track and trend medical staff performance.

City/StateNorfolk, VAWork ShiftFirst (Days)Overview:Sentara Leigh Hospital located in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a RN, Quality Improvement Coordinator!This is a full-time 40 hour per week day shift position.The Quality Improvement Coordinator is responsible for providing project management and facilitation, as well as, clinical oversight and support for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement medical staff performance improvement and patient safety initiatives. This includes organizing relevant task forces, review of evidenced based literature/benchmarks, establishment of indicators for monitoring and evaluation of quality and appropriateness of care, continuous improvement, and achieving targeted goals as well as medical record review, occurrence/complaint investigation and tracking/trending medical staff performance.Education/Experience/Licensure:RN LicenseBSN is required3 or more years of current experience in QI related activities preferred. Experience in a clinical area of an acute care facility with demonstrated leadership, teaching and QI/PI facilitation skills preferred.
