Job summary

Southeast Health in Dothan, AL seeks a Quality Improvement Coordinator to apply nursing knowledge to improve clinical quality and patient safety across the system.

You will collect and analyze data, develop improvement metrics, coordinate projects, and collaborate with nursing staff, medical staff, and administrators to meet regulatory standards and reduce readmissions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in Alabama.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) credential is preferred.
• Two (2) years’ clinical nursing experience.
• Two to four years’ quality improvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, abstract, and summarize quality data for reviews and external agencies.
• Ensure data is complete and submitted timely to stakeholders.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative data analyses using statistical tools.
• Develop and monitor quality improvement metrics to identify care improvements.
• Act as Improvement Advisor to project teams with charters and milestones.
• Review quality reports daily and track progress towards goals.
• Coordinate hospital-wide responses to improvement activities.
• Keep leadership updated on issues, status, barriers and outcomes.
• Help develop facility procedures for quality and patient safety.
• Participate in systemic quality improvement projects per the plan.

They support the development, implementation, and evaluation of Southeast Health’s Quality Improvement and Patient Safety program through system-wide coordination of planned and reliable processes designed to promote continuous quality improvement.They collaborate with stakeholders including ancillary, nursing, and medical staff to identify trends, prioritize and recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory standards.The Quality Improvement Coordinator will also investigate incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues, and other issues as requested by the supervisor.Job DescriptionEssential FunctionsSupports the Director of Quality and Regulatory Programs by:Collecting, abstracting, and summarizing data required for quality review, internal quality projects, or by external agencies.Ensuring that abstracted data is complete, and submitted timely to the Quality Safety Council members, other internal customers, and external agencies.Performing qualitative and quantitative analyses of data using statistical tools.Developing and monitoring quality improvement metrics defined by the hospital or national organizations, in order to identify opportunities for care improvement including but not limited to: readmissions, complications, mortalities, hospital-acquired conditions.Acting as an Improvement Advisor to project teams, in order to establish charters, aims, milestones, and benchmarks for delivering excellent value of care, by utilizing established methodologies and relevant tools.Reviewing quality improvement reports on a daily basis, tracking and trending progress towards goals.Coordinating house-wide response to improvement activities by following defined project milestones.
