This position requires an experienced individual familiar with the quality management (QM) and general operations of a Medicaid and/or Medicare plan.



This position is responsible for supporting the clinical quality improvement program. The ability to participate in quality improvement teams, implement quality improvement initiatives, support data acquisitions, and assess the efficacy of quality improvement interventions is needed for this role. This position also requires an ability to professionally communicate, influence, and build internal relationships and partnerships that will support the success of the quality improvement program. Responsibilities include monitoring quality performance measures; assisting with the development of plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement using HEDIS measures and other tools; and oversight and monitoring of quality improvement activities related to regulatory contractual requirements.



This role is a full-time remote position. Must be able to attend onsite meetings, when needed.



If you reside in the Phoenix, AZ area and be able to travel to the local office as needed, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.



Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manages projects designed to improve member utilization of preventative health services

  • Assists health plan to maintain State contracted QI standards

  • Assists in designing and implementing QI activities for the health plan

  • Assists QI Director in meeting all regulatory quality requirements

  • Assists with the maintenance of Quality policies & procedures

  • Utilize QI tools identify opportunities, measure, track, and evaluate performance on QI initiatives (PDSA, RCA, fishbone diagrams, key driver diagrams, run charts, FMEA, etc)

Required Qualifications:



  • 2+ years working on quality improvement initiatives to improve CMS Core Set and HEDIS performance measures utilizing various QI tools and techniques

  • 2+ years of project management experience or 2+ years of quality improvement experience

  • Experience with continuous learning and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances

  • Experience working in managed care quality department in Medicaid/Medicare or equivalent experience in non-managed care setting

  • Skills and experience with focusing on organizational efforts on improving clinical quality performance measures

  • Skills and experience developing and implementing performance improvement activities

  • Skills and experience understanding and utilizing data to develop intervention strategies to improve outcomes

  • Skills and experience reporting on quality improvement program outcomes

  • Experience with effectively managing priorities

  • Excel proficiency to include mastery of lookup functions, creating and modifying pivot tables, advanced chart design, and use of forecast and trend tools

  • Proven solid organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with attention to detail

  • Reside in or near Phoenix, Arizona



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

  • Experience contributing to regulatory required reports and deliverables

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, with the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions, and devise appropriate courses of action

The hourly range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
