Job summary

Augusta Health in Virginia is seeking a Safety Management Coordinator to join our Quality Management System. You will use data, collaboration, and improvement science to identify opportunities, understand what happened, and help teams prevent future events.

This highly collaborative role works across the organization with clinical leaders, department directors, Risk Management, and healthcare professionals to influence patient safety and quality outcomes through education and proactive risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field.
• Two or more years healthcare experience; one year in risk management or patient safety.
• Master's degree preferred.
• CPHQ, RIMS-CRMP, CPHRM, ERMC, and/or CPPS preferred.
• Strong communication and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze event reporting.
• Facilitate debriefs and root cause analyses.
• Conduct safety rounding.
• Translate trends and outcomes into actionable insights for leaders.
• Educate teams to drive proactive risk identification and improvements.

Help shape a culture where safety, learning, and continuous improvement are part of how we care for our patients and support our team! As a Safety Management Coordinator, you will play a key role in Augusta Health’s Quality Management System, using data, collaboration, and improvement science to identify opportunities, understand what happened, and help teams prevent future events. You’ll manage and analyze event reporting, facilitate debriefs and root cause analyses, conduct safety rounding, and translate trends and outcomes into meaningful insights for leaders and teams. This is a highly collaborative role that works across the organization with clinical leaders, department directors, Risk Management, and healthcare professionals. You’ll have the opportunity to influence patient safety and quality outcomes through education, proactive risk identification, and improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field.
• Two (2) years or more healthcare experience; One (1) year or more in risk management, or patient safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree.
• CPHQ, RIMS-CRMP, CPHRM, ERMC, and/or CPPS.

Skills:

• Demonstrated organization and communication skills. Must be able to manage processes across a complex and multi-faceted care delivery system.
• Strong computer knowledge with the ability to run reports and interpret data.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, collaborator, and ability to influence change without direct authority.
• Strong problem-solving and detail oriented.

The pay range reflects the current compensation range for this position at the time of posting. Individual offers are determined based on directly related experience, skills, education, internal equity, and other job-related factors. Not all candidates will qualify for the upper end of the posted range.
