Job summary

Crane Pumps & Systems in Piqua, Ohio seeks a Quality Manager to lead the QMS, supervise quality staff, and drive continuous improvement across supplier, manufacturing, and customer quality.

The role ensures ISO 9001 compliance, conducts internal and external audits, and promotes a culture of safety and excellence. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of three years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Advanced knowledge of quality methodologies and quality planning tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC.
• Experience managing supplier and customer quality issues.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and test requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and quality-related software systems.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results through influence and collaboration.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency and ownership.
• Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Experience with IATF 16949, AS9100 or other quality standards.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• ASQ CQE/CMQ/OE or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of Quality Engineers, Inspectors, Quality Technicians, and other assigned quality personnel.
• Support maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in ISO 9001 compliance.
• Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits with timely closure of findings.
• Promote the Quality Policy and a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Lead deployment of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and IATF Core Tools to improve product quality.
• Monitor process performance metrics and drive actions to reduce variation and improve quality.
• Drive resolution of customer complaints and supplier quality issues using structured problem-solving.
• Analyze data to identify trends and implement preventive actions using PFMEA, 8D, Fishbone, FAT, etc.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators; assist with management reviews.
• Coordinate containment activities for significant quality concerns.
• Collaborate with Operations to improve manufacturing processes and process capability.
• Ensure disposition and control of nonconforming materials and products.
• Develop and maintain inspection, testing, and certification processes.
