Job summary

Flex is seeking a Quality Engineering Project Manager based in Austin, Texas. The role reports to Leyda Alicea and focuses on managing projects to meet cost, delivery and quality indicators for a specific organization.

The candidate will coordinate Flex resources, drive tasks to completion, and act as the primary contact for quality issues while driving improvements across sites in the NPI, Sustaining and Service/Repair areas.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in quality, process and manufacturing environments.
• 3 years of project management experience.
• Problem solving and decision making.
• Hardware/PCBA experience (2–3 years).
• CAPAs, root cause analysis, CARs experience.
• Data analysis and process performance focus.
• Influence and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge in ISO9000 or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Be the primary quality liaison with customers for quality and process issues.
• Coordinate continuous quality and process improvements across Flex sites.
• Drive standardized processes and procedures between sites.
• Escalate and manage production, manufacturing, and design issue communications.
• Lead and close CAPAs, 8D reports, and quality alerts with timelines.
• Track quality metrics and report status of CAPAs and CARs.
• Prepare for and support customer audits and assessments.

Summary:

The “Quality Engineering Project Manager” will be based in Austin, Texas, reporting to Leyda Alicea. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects to meet the performance indicators (cost, delivery, quality, etc) of a specific organization. This person is result oriented and is capable of coordinating Flex resources and driving tasks to completion in a timely manner

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Responsible and point of contact with customer for quality and process related issues
• Quality liaison between all Flex sites that manufactures, tests, and repairs
• Coordinates continuous quality and process related improvements between sites at AUR (NPI, Sustaining, and Service and Repair)
• Drives consistent processes and procedures between all Flex sites
• Always in copy of any production, manufacturing, and customer design issues.
• First level escalation on quality issues.
• Manage Quality Holds and drive to release material to prevent aging units and work orders.
• Responsible for data gathering and status reporting on Quality Alerts, Customer CAPAs, Internal Flex CARs including
• Driving effective and efficient closure on Quality Alerts, Customer CAPAs, and Internal CARs (8D’s)
• First to be notified and review CAPA issued by PNW. Review CAPA validity and respond back to PNW within 24hrs. Assign CAPA owner.
• Manage expectation w/ PANW team, ex. request extension or clarifications
• Ensure stating correct problem statement and the teams are using proper tools to get to root cause
• Fishbone diagrams, 5 Why’s, A3 Problem Solving Techniques.
• Kepner Tregoe (Nice to have)
• Participates in all weekly Quality meetings (NPI, Production and Services repair)
• Follow up on the action items w/ the owners
• Work with QEs to ensures quality data and report integrity.
• For example, the weekly yield report, QM data uploads, defect Pareto, component DPPM report, etc.
• Drives the DRT action items with each Flex site and appropriate functional groups
• Facilitates the quality data sharing between Flex sites i.e.
• Data from different product lifecycle from NPI to Production to Repair
• Support the QBR metrics and work with PAWN in reviewing the quarterly results
• Review metrics such as FPY goals, CAPA, etc..
• Drive customer audits/assessments before, during and after the audit.
• Validate and submit ISO TL9K quality data to the compliance team.
