Capewell Aerial Systems – South Windsor, CT invites students to join our Quality Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in aerospace quality engineering, assist in project work, and present outcomes to management.

Requirements include enrollment in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, a passion for quality and aerospace, and strong communication abilities. This onsite, full-time internship on a Monday–Thursday schedule with occasional Fridays.

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Demonstrated passion for quality engineering and aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ability to compile information and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and maintain urgency when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

JOB TITLE : Quality Engineering Intern – Summer 2027

LOCATION: Capewell Aerial Systems –South Windsor, CT

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

  • Gain firsthand experience with the challenges of the aerospace industry and quality engineering, while contributing to meaningful business improvements.
  • Complete operational tasks and project-based work.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Work cooperatively with other employees to meet department and company goals.
  • Present your work and learning outcomes to management at the end of the internship.
  • This internship also serves as a gateway to full-time employment, and we’re looking for students who are excited about continuing their journey with us after graduation. Full-time employment is not guaranteed and will depend on individual performance during the internship as well as the company’s evolving business needs.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors or management to support departmental and organizational objectives.

This position requires personal protective equipment on the shop floor where all require safety glasses and composite toe safety shoes

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Passion for quality engineering and aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ability to compile information and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work with deadlines, sense of urgency as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes excessive.
  • This is a full-time, onsite position.
  • The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 6:00AM – 3:30PM and Every other Friday 6:00 – 2:30PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.
