Job summary

PNC is seeking a Quality Engineering Director to lead the QE strategy, governance, and end-to-end testing across programs. The role focuses on reliability, risk management, and continuous improvement within an in-office environment.

Based in Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA, the candidate will drive adoption of modern testing methodologies and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities while overseeing QE leadership and budget planning.

Qualifications

  • Advances QE practices by embedding best practices and modern testing methodologies.
  • Reviews workforce and capability strategy for QE, including resource planning and budget alignment.

Job Description
  • Sets and governs the quality engineering strategy, ensuring aligment to enterprise priorities and comprehensive end to end testing across programs.
  • Establishes and enforces standards and operating models for test execution and environment coordination, holding teams accountable for consistent execution and adherence to quality metrics. Serves as a subject matter expert to guide solution development
  • Proactively identifies systemic risks, gaps and quality deficiencies and directs cross-functional resulution efforts by mobilizing Quality Engineering leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
  • Owns enterprise quality performance, leveraging defect metrics, trend analysis, and post-production insights to set expectations, drive accountability, and continuously improve delivery outcomes.
  • Leads the advancement of Quality Engineering practices by institutionalizing continuous improvement, embedding best practices, and driving adoption of modern testing methodologies across the organization.
  • Reviews workforce and capability strategy for Quality Engineering, including resource planning, leadership development, and budget alignment, while fostering a high-performing organization and advancing adoption of emerging industry trends within deliery teams.

Work Experience

Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
