Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a quality professional to support the manufacturing of surgical instruments. You will translate customer requirements into precise inspection criteria and deploy them with machine operators to assure zero defects throughout the process.

The role requires 3–6 years in tight-tolerance measurement, GD&T, and metrology, with familiarity in CMM and statistical methods. You will lead quality improvements, train staff, and collaborate with the MRB and QA teams.

Qualifications

4 Year / Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field.
3-6 years experience with tight tolerance measurement systems in machining applications, blueprint reading, GD&T, and a working knowledge of short-run process control methods, DOE, ISO standards, FDA quality system regulations.
Working knowledge of statistical analysis and methods; experience with CMM, optical measuring equipment, and metrology in machining environments.
Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and quality while controlling costs.

Responsibilities

Support manufacture of surgical instruments by translating customer requirements into inspection criteria for machine operators.
Develop and implement inspection/validation techniques to verify products meet requirements early in production.
Provide leadership in quality, train new hires, and oversee batch testing, calibration, and environmental monitoring.
Investigate deviations, OOS, complaints, recalls, and MRB processes; support corrective actions.
Lead or assist in continuous improvement activities, such as Gage R&R studies and process validations.
