Job summary

ZF Transmissions Gray Court, LLC is seeking a Plant Engineer Quality Supervisor to coordinate quality solutions for gears and lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Gray Court, SC. The role focuses on monitoring processes, ensuring customer and company quality, and driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

The candidate will develop QA documentation, participate in APQP and FMEA activities, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to maintain control

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of gears manufacturing/quality experience.
• 8–10+ years in manufacturing/technical environment.
• Experience directing work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong problem-solving knowledge and techniques.
• 4+ years in a quality-related role.
• Experience in a leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical solutions related to Assembly Quality Processes and respond to production quality issues.
• Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, recalls, audits, field returns and repairs.
• Collaborate with Customer Quality Engineer, Product and Manufacturing Engineering to determine critical features and adjust tolerances for cost-effective production.
• Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning to select measurement systems during new tool/process design and startup.
• Contribute to development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Ensure Control Plans are updated throughout the life of the part.

About the Position

About the Team

The primary role will be to coordinate technical solutions related to Assembly Quality Processes as well as a first responder to quality issues in production. Associated responsibility is to promote and ensure product quality and promote Quality culture and customer satisfaction.

What you can look forward to as Plant Engineer Quality Supervisor

• Supports and complies with established Company's Corporate Principles and goals.
• Understand and comply with Quality requirements such as ISO 14000 and IATF 16949 requirements
• Monitor manufacturing processes and assess product quality to determine adequacy, capability, and ability to comply with customer specifications and company's specifications.
• Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product recalls, product audits, field returns and repairs, complaints, scrap, and rework, and retain documented information as evidence.
• Collaborate with Customer Quality Engineer, Product and Manufacturing Engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design. Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.
• Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and startup.
• Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Assure Control Plans are available and updated throughout the life of the part.

Your profile as Plant Engineer Quality Supervisor

• Bachelor's degree Engineering
• Mandatory 5 years of experience (at least) working with Gears (manufacture and quality experience)
• 8-10+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or technical environment
• Experience with directing the work of others in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong knowledge in problem solving methodology and techniques.
• 4+ years of experience in quality related role
• Experience in a leader position (team in charge)
