Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. in Heber Springs, AR is seeking a QA/QC professional to review prints, evaluate tolerances, and document inspection results. You will lead root cause analysis with production and engineering teams and support customer quality requirements with PPAP documentation.

Responsibilities include coordinating initial production runs, assisting with measurements, and driving continuous improvement through data analysis and compliance with MEC quality systems.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficiency with quality inspection tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints as applicable to the manufacturing of metals.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to the degree necessary.

• Reviews prints, specifications, and drawings for design intent and drafting standards. Evaluates dimensions, datum, and tolerances that affect fit, functions, durability, functional gauging, and product assessment. Conducts inspections and tests on products and materials to ensure they meet specifications.
• Documents and reports on inspection results and any deviations from quality standards. Collects and analyzes production data for quality metric tracking. Utilizes root cause corrective action tools to assist production with complex problem resolution.
• Evaluates processing methods ranging from moderate to complex to determine if methods planned will be capable of producing products to meet customer requirements on a continuing basis. Makes suggestions for process improvements.
• Leads root cause analysis with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and customer concerns. Provides technical support to the customer and internal engineering staff on more complex quality issues. Promotes employee understanding of customer quality requirements, basic workmanship standards, compliance requirements and MEC quality systems and processes.
• Addresses customer complaints and quality concerns in a timely and effective manner. Provides customer support through visitation to their manufacturing or design locations. Investigates and resolves customer issues related to product quality.
• Prepares and submits documentation as required by customer (associated Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) information, warrants, Control plan, Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR), raw material certifications, finishing certifications, and others).
• Coordinates and leads first production runs for proper quality and process controls and initial sample inspection report. Leads launch teams in performing failure mode and effects of analysis and control plan.
• Assists workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.
• Supports all aspects of compliance and continuous improvement through quality audits. Investigates and reviews supplier compliance to standards, including inspection of incoming materials, rejection of non-conforming raw materials, and implementation of corrective action to resolve vendor/supplier issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

• Proficiency with quality inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to the degree necessary.
• Ability to determine product status based on test and inspection results.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints as applicable to the manufacturing of metals.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
