Job summary

Advantest America Inc. in Lake Forest, CA, seeks a Quality Engineer to drive quality improvements across design and production. You will lead issue closures, perform failure analysis, and work with cross-functional teams to prevent defects.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical fields, 5+ years in quality or R&D, plus experience with PCB/PCBA and IPC standards. Onsite position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Residence in commuting range to Lake Forest facility.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Mechanical and/or technology fields with 5+ years in quality/engineering/R&D.
• Solid experience in failure analysis on electrical components.
• Knowledge of PCB/PCBA production; semiconductor production preferred.
• Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, List, Power BI).
• Able to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
• Familiar with IPC quality standards and FMEA (design, production).
• Onsite position in Lake Forest, CA.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of processes and control documents; handle issue cases from production and field.
• Participate in MRB activities and balance quality vs production time.
• Use issue case database and Power BI for trend analysis and tracking.
• Identify process inefficiencies and quality risks for continuous improvement.
• Investigate, analyze, and drive resolution of quality issues across production, suppliers, field, and customers.
• Support root cause investigations, corrective and preventive action activities, and effectiveness verification.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, Operations, and Program Management to resolve issues.
• All other duties as assigned.
