Job summary

Torus, headquartered in Utah, seeks a Quality Engineer to drive QMS maturation and ensure products meet standards before shipment.

You will lead root-cause analysis, apply GD&T, Six Sigma, and data-driven improvements, working hands-on in a startup/scale-up environment at our Salt Lake City facility.

This role requires 4+ years in quality/manufacturing, a technical degree, and comfort building processes from the ground up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field required.
• 4+ years in quality/manufacturing in a technical environment.
• Solid math and basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Strong understanding of quality standards and root cause methods.
• Process documentation and data collection experience.
• Attention to detail and quality control mindset.
• Experience with core QMS processes (NCM, CAPA, Document Control...).
• Ability to read/apply GD&T to ensure Fit, Form, Function.
• Six Sigma mindset with focus on reducing defects.
• Startup/scale-up environment comfort.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts in production.
• Read prints and drawings to determine required standards.
• Use precision measuring tools for electrical and mechanical assemblies.
• Identify and reject nonconforming products and document disposition.
• Input inspection data into quality tracking systems and databases.
• Lead cross-functional teams for in-depth RCA and testing.
• Support development/implementation of QMS and SOPs.
• Apply Six Sigma tools to reduce process variation and defects.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and documentation as per regulations.
• Translate requirements into robust Quality Control Plans.
