Job summary

Nationwide Pet is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team, bringing hands-on Playwright experience and solid API testing skills. The role focuses on test automation, CI/CD participation, and maintaining robust QA practices across Angular SPAs, REST APIs, and service integrations.

The position can be based in Columbus, OH; Des Moines, IA; or Scottsdale, AZ, with remote options considered. It follows a hybrid model with two days in the office, PT alignment, and a focus on delivering secure,

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience using test optimization and automation processes and tools.
• Experience testing for agile teams, including planning, test plan creation, maintenance, and execution.
• Good understanding of test automation and optimization throughout a stack and the tools to support.
• Education preferred in computer science or MIS.
• Insurance/financial services knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shape solution options with architects and surface architectural impacts.
• Design and operationalize high-value QE use cases that are data-informed and outcome-oriented.
• Analyze testing trends and automation capabilities; translate insights into recommendations and product strategies.
• Ensure systems and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements.
• Review requirements and artifacts to support test design and automation.
• Apply secure software practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Define and execute test strategies using a mix of manual, automated, and exploratory approaches.
• Utilize standard QE tools for test data, automation, performance, security, and regression testing.
• Manage defects end to end: identification, prioritization, tracking, resolution.
• Validate test results and report outcomes to stakeholders.
• Coordinate test execution, environments, and release validation.
• Drive continuous improvement and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Align with testing architecture and release governance.
