Job summary

The Quality Engineer (Part Approval) is an onsite role located in Fort Wayne, IN. The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing customer and supplier part approval documentation required for approval of new part submissions (NPI / APQP), part design and specification changes, and annual part revalidation when required by the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions customer.

Represent Supply Chain Management Logistics Center Americas Quality in NPI/APQP and other related projects for new products that

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
Minimum 3 years quality experience.
Experience reading drawings and specifications.
Experience in a distribution/manufacturing/lean environment is a plus.
Quality system audits (ISO 9001/IATF 16949/AS9100) preferred.
Understanding AIAG Core Tools preferred.
Knowledge of statistics; Six Sigma belt preferred.
Root cause analysis methods (Ishikawa, 5 Why, 8D, PDCA, Kepner-Tregoe, Shainin).

Responsibilities

Interact with Sales, Customer Success, Purchasing and other departments to coordinate part approvals.
Prepare, review and approve PPAP/CCP documents including PFMEA and Control Plans.
Analyze dependencies, procedures and training/competence for adequacy.
Analyze KPIs and data (MSA, Process Capabilities, Run-Charts).
Develop new process flow maps and support process certification.
Support customer complaint investigations and corrective actions.
Establish training requirements and documentation control.
Travel up to 10% to support US/Mexico/Canada operations.
