Job summary

Corning Incorporated in the United States is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen quality systems and drive continuous improvement in an advanced optics manufacturing operation. Translate customer requirements into clear standards, controls, and acceptance criteria—leading audits, investigations, and process improvements that impact product quality and efficiency.

Requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, 5+ years in quality/manufacturing, ISO 9001 knowledge, and ~5% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical degree.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, process, or quality engineering.
• Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Experience with internal and external quality auditing.
• Demonstrated root cause and problem-solving skills applied to technical issues.
• Experience developing and reviewing procedures, work instructions, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or experience in regulated product environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to perform occasional off-shift or weekend coverage; ~5% travel.

Responsibilities

• Apply ISO 9001 quality standards to ensure product compliance and drive improvements.
• Optimize sampling plans and QC methods; write SOPs and work instructions.
• Lead root cause investigations and resolve customer complaints.
• Lead Lean improvement projects targeting cost reduction and capacity improvement.
• Collaborate with Plant Engineering on new product qualification, validation, and audits.
