Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Quality Engineer Night Shift for the Manufacturing & Technology team, based in Columbus, Ohio. The role reports to the QMS Manager at the project site and drives quality program execution on night shift.

Responsibilities include coordinating audits, managing NCRs and CRs, performing progress quality checks, and ensuring interface with India project team and suppliers. Strong communication and MS Power BI skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) required.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in PC computers, Microsoft software and database administration.
• Experience in applying engineering, procurement and construction principles and processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality activities at project site on night shift.
• Coordinate audits, surveillances and monitoring to verify quality program effectiveness.
• Manage NCRs, CORs, CRs and BQRs in CLCA, Unifier and BIM360 systems.
• Conduct in-progress quality checks and ensure quality program implementation at site.
• Communicate with project functions to meet management goals and objectives.
• Recommend actions to correct observed quality deficiencies to QMS Manager.
• Identify quality problems and verify corrective actions.
• Maintain client communication on project quality activities.
• Prepare reports on effectiveness of the quality program.
• Coordinate supplier/subcontractor qualification, bids, and supplier quality program reviews.

Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a Quality Engineer Night Shift for theManufacturing and Technology team, based in Columbus, Ohio. The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Management System (QMS) Manager at project site.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the quality activities performed at project site on night shift within the quality function


• Coordinates, supervises, and/or participates in the project auditing, surveillances and monitoring program to verify project quality program effectiveness


• Manages quality issues identified by Customer (NCR, COR), their third-party inspectors, and Bechtel identified quality deficiencies (CRs and BQRs), in the CLCA, Unifier and BIM360 systems


• Perform In- Progress quality checks for implementation of the quality program at site on regular basis


• Communicate with project functions and services to ensure management goals
  objectives are met


• Recommends actions to QMS Manager to correct observed quality deficiencies


• Identifies quality problems, initiates documented action and verifies implementation of solutions


• Maintains client communication for project quality related activities


• Prepare reports on the effectiveness of the quality program/plan implementation


• Performs, leads and coordinate as needed with India project team, supplier/subcontractor qualification surveys, reviews requests for proposals, evaluates bid documents, reviews supplier/subcontractor quality programs, and performs source inspections, surveillances, and quality audits

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

• Must have the right to work in the US

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in the use of PC computers, Microsoft software and database administration

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Technical knowledge and experience in the application of engineering, procurement and construction principles and processes, and regulatory commitments


• Knowledge of the application of Quality Management Systems


• Experience establishing, monitoring, and analyzing data and reporting results to management. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Power BI tool, or equivalent


• Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence change; and facilitate diverse teams to achieve timely deliverables
  Preferred Qualifications:


• Trained in Causal Analysis techniques


• Experience with Corrective Action programs


• Experience with Lessons Learned or Operational Experience Programs
