Job summary

Permobil, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer in Pasco, WA to lead investigations into non-conforming materials, define inspection criteria, and ensure product quality across raw materials, components, and finished goods.

The role requires a engineering degree and 2 years of related experience, with strong analytical skills, proficiency in RCA methods, and experience in Lean/Six Sigma. You will support risk management, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2 years related experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience utilizing root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, Fault Tree).
• Experience implementing continuous improvement activities (e.g. Kaizen, 5S, LPA).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a cross-functional team.
• Ability to apply logical/scientific thinking to problems;
• Solid understanding of statistical techniques used to analyze quality data.
• LEAN/Six Sigma in manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate non-conforming material and determine disposition based on drawings and risk docs; define acceptance criteria and inspection methods for raw goods, components, and finished products.
• Support ISO 14971 risk management and government regulations; participate in formal risk management activities.
• Analyze data to track impact of product/process changes; participate in Lean and Six Sigma activities and Kaizen events; present reports to managers.
• Educate others on regulations and standards; evaluate processes, change requests, and deviations against regulatory requirements; support audits.
• Attend workshops and conferences; stay current with company products and technology.
• Monitor and report on production line quality; coordinate improvements with operations; manage supplier quality.
