Job summary

Harbinger is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to own HC CAB interior and exterior quality across life cycles. You will drive QA standards, root-cause analysis, supplier quality, and APQP/PPAP processes while collaborating with design, production, and suppliers to prevent defects and improve cabin systems.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years in manufacturing or supplier quality, familiarity with ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949, and strong data-driven problem solving with a bias for action.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
  • Three to five years of pertinent experience in manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering involving control of class A surfaces.
  • Proficiency in ISO-9001:2018 or IATF 16949 standards is highly desired
  • Familiarity with Quality core tools including Quality Management Systems, Supplier and Internal Audits, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Monitor quality performance metrics, proactively identify and elevate emerging high-impact issues using supplier, internal process, and warranty data for early resolution.
  • Drive timely root cause analysis and resolution by engaging and holding cross-functional teams accountable with a data-driven approach.
  • Implement continuous improvement by driving lessons learned into relevant processes
  • Develop and track data-driven metrics for issue monitoring and corrective action effectiveness.
  • Create innovative tools and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Continuously develop quality standards, quality control systems, and manufacturing and supplier quality protocols for Harbinger's HC Series CAB.
  • Perform thorough inspection and testing of materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure meticulous compliance with quality specifications.
  • Support the assembly team with equipment buyoff, conducting technical and statistical investigations concerning quality issues, methods, and equipment, culminating in actionable recommendations.
  • Formulate effective corrective actions, solutions, and enhancements for supplier, production, and product-related challenges specific to vehicle cabin systems.
  • Participate in design reviews alongside design engineering and manufacturing teams to mitigate manufacturing and assembly risks linked to cabin trim and interior components.
  • Lead and instruct interdisciplinary efforts to conduct root cause analysis for both internal and external cabin components, ensuring timely responses and validation of corrective actions to prevent non-conformances.
  • Lead MRB meetings and act as a quality representative within the engineering change control board for cabin and interior systems.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to own Harbinger's HC CAB interior and exterior quality. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our vehicle cabins, including interior and exterior trim and CAB components, throughout their life cycles. This role involves collaborating with suppliers, product designers, and production teams to establish and maintain quality standards, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement. This QE will act as a liaison between the company's cross-functional teams, our suppliers, and our customers. Responsibilities include defining quality standards, performing root cause analysis, defining inspection standards, equipment controls, quality gates, supplier selection, APQP, and determining corrective actions. A successful Cab Quality Engineer should have excellent analytic and troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products are consistently improved.



What You'll Do:

  • Familiarity with fundamental quality core tools including Quality Management Systems, Supplier and Internal Audits, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA.

  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently

  • Solid understanding of paint quality, vehicle general assembly, EOL vehicle inspection advantageous

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

California Pay Range

$100,000 — $150,000 USD
