Job summary

The Quality Engineer role at our Fremont, OH plant focuses on driving defect reduction, APQP activities and ISO-16949 compliance to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field is required.
• 3-5 Years Quality Experience.
• Proven work experience in process engineering.
• Familiarity of process flow as it relates to lean manufacturing.
• Experience with ISO-16949 and ISO-9001 is preferred.
• Experience with IATF is preferred.
• Tier 1 automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use statistical tools and problem solving methods (e.g., 8D, 5Y, Fishbone).
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions from non-conformances.
• Assist with analysis of SPC data.
• Develop and maintain error-proofing/mistake-proofing methods in manufacturing cells.
• Participate in APQP activities for IMDS submissions, Control Plans, PFMEA, and Process Flow Charts.
• Manage new processes and implementation for new product launches.
• Participate in plant continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in customer meetings and quality reporting.
• Provide process improvement recommendations.
• Monitor Customer PPM rating system and inputs to minimize negative exposure.
• Serve as primary customer liaison for Production Part Quality issues per QA Manager.
