BCforward in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Quality Engineer III to design and implement scalable automation frameworks for web, APIs, and data pipelines. This role emphasizes validating data flows and enabling continuous testing in Agile environments.

You will build and maintain automated test frameworks with Selenium, JUnit/TestNG, and Maven, perform API testing with XML/SOAP, and participate in Scrum/Kanban ceremonies while collaborating across teams to drive quality and efficiency.

We are seeking a Quality Engineer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test automation for web, APIs, and data pipelines and a proven ability to design and implement scalable automation frameworks, validate data flows, and enable continuous testing in Agile environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for web, API, and data validation.
• Develop and execute test plans and test cases for Java and Python data APIs and Kafka-based data movement.
• Implement BDD test assets including Features, Scenarios, and Step Definitions using Cucumber with Gherkin.
• Create and enhance Selenium automation with JUnit/TestNG and manage execution via Maven.
• Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins to run automated regression suites.
• Perform API testing using SOAP UI, including XML and web services validation.
• Collaborate within Scrum and Kanban teams, contribute to ceremonies, and support technical direction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver/GRID, JUnit or TestNG, and Maven.
• Hands-on API testing with XML/SOAP and SOAP UI, including web services validation.
• Experience developing BDD tests with Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methods, including Scrum and Kanban ceremonies.
• Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD and automated regression execution.
• Experience with Kafka and big data tools for data movement and validation.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to support design, development, and testing.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with CI tooling and automation technologies such as Jenkins, Maven, and JUnit benchmarking.
• Knowledge or certification in programming languages for test automation, including Python, Java, or C++.
