Job summary

Relativity Space in Stennis, Mississippi, seeks a Quality Engineer to oversee in‑process verification, non‑conformance management, and QMS‑driven improvement within the Test & Launch program.

You will collaborate with Test & Launch, Manufacturing, and Hardware teams, applying data‑driven analysis to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions while supporting aerospace manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another STEM field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer at a fast-paced manufacturing company.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, NASA quality standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing/complex assembly practices and quality processes/controls.
  • Experience with PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software.
  • Willing to work night shifts, weekends, and may travel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight: in‑process build verification, issue ticket processes, as‑built verification, non‑conformance management with goals to complete projects.
  • Planning: review work instructions, develop processes, corrective action plans, and rework/repair documentation.
  • QMS Support: collaborate with the QMS team to develop policies for Test and Launch quality.
  • Collaboration: build relationships with Test & Launch, Manufacturing, and Hardware Responsible Engineering teams.
  • Analysis: use data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions.

About the Team

The Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates Relativity’s propulsion and stage test stands. Team members work hands‑on with large‑scale, complex systems including fully integrated engines and stage assemblies, pushing hardware to the limits and directly contributing to flight readiness. The work is fast‑paced, highly operational, and ideal for those with backgrounds in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, offshore operations, industrial systems, construction, or adjacent industries.

About the Role
  • Oversight: in‑process build verification, issue ticket processes, as‑built verification, non‑conformance management while establishing goals and objectives to complete projects.
  • Planning: review work instructions, develop processes, correct action plans, and standard rework/repair documentation while driving initiatives to facilitate quality in the growing Test and Launch program.
  • QMS Support: AS9100 Quality Management System – collaborate with the QMS team to develop and implement policies and procedures relevant for the Test and Launch Quality team.
  • Collaboration: develop strong working relationships with Test & Launch, Manufacturing, and Hardware Responsible Engineering teams to ensure company objectives are met, and demonstrate the ability to communicate and present information to team members, leaders, and top management.
  • Analysis: use data and metrics in QE workflows to identify trends, root causes, corrective actions, and present improvement initiatives.
About You
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another STEM field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer at a fast‑paced manufacturing company.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, NASA quality standards).
  • In‑depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing/complex assembly practices and typical quality processes/controls.
  • Experience with typical PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software.
  • Will work occasional night shifts, weekends, and may travel.
Nice to haves
  • Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Production Process Verification (PPV).
  • Familiarity with high‑volume inspection methods and data‑driven acceptance methods.
Background Check

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on‑site work at our government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi.

Benefits
