Position Summary: At CardWorks, we are actively seeking a committed Quality Engineer II to be a crucial asset to our quality engineering team. In this capacity, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain automated tests for both UI and API functionalities. Your role will involve close collaboration with the QA team to ensure these automated tests are integrated effectively into our CI/CD pipelines.
Essential Functions
- Technical: Deep experience integrating software development with a passion for Quality Engineering. Create and maintain automated UI and API tests. Write and execute test cases to ensure development outputs meet defined specifications in coordination with business and technical requirements. Pinpoint and rectify inconsistencies within card program setting controls, ensuring accurate configurations. Document software defects using JIRA bug tracking system. Use Test Case Management tools such as Zephyr. Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes. Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive toward root‑cause identification and resolution. Participate in test case reviews, ensuring requirements traceability and proper coverage. Perform exploratory, functional, integration, UI, back‑end testing, white‑box/black‑box testing. Demonstrate capacity to investigate and debug complex issues.
- Methodology: Deep expertise in Quality Engineering standards, processes, policies, and procedures. Demonstrate and evangelize a passion for process and methodology through daily actions. Adhere to and support all established documented methodology and best practices in alignment with release processes. Support group procedures to drive repeatable, reliable delivery of high‑quality software products and services. Display basic understanding of testing methodology and product knowledge in test design.
- Team Support/Leadership: Deep commitment to working in and fostering a highly collaborative, innovative, and high‑performing product team. Education and Experience
- 2–4 years UI test automation experience (e.g., Selenium, Playwright).
- 2–4 years hands‑on experience building API automation tests using Karate.
- 2–4 years hands‑on experience with programming/scripting in Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- 2–4 years experience creating XPath queries and functions.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, and similar.
- Basic understanding of RESTful API principles, best practices, and microservices patterns.
- Demonstrate basic SQL programming skills (queries, joins, etc.).
Summary of Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in computer science (or relevant degree) with 2 years of experience.
- 2–4 years experience in software testing.
- Preferred experience using credit card processing and payment processing platforms.
- Knowledgeable in testing methodology, design, execution, and product knowledge.
- Experience with QA techniques including black box, white box, and gray box approaches for smoke, regression, functional, user acceptance and exploratory testing.
- Experience developing use cases, test scenarios and/or test plans.
- Investigating and debugging complex issues.
- Experience with Agile testing.
- Experience using JIRA or other bug tracking tools.
- Experience using Test Case Management tools such as Zephyr.
Location
Onsite role in our Horsham, PA office.
