Job summary

Tennant Company, a global leader in cleaning equipment, is seeking a Quality Engineer II in Minneapolis, MN. This role drives quality improvements, reduces waste, and supports manufacturing, product engineering, and operations to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will maintain the QMS per ISO 9001, lead corrective actions, and implement Lean methods across assembly and fabrication areas. The position emphasizes data-driven decisions, audits, and proactive quality ownership on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of quality or manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and quality improvement methodologies.
• Experience supporting audits, process documentation, and quality system compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continually improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate corrective actions from audit findings.
• Facilitate documentation control, process standardization, and quality procedure maintenance.
• Monitor quality KPIs and report results to plant leadership.
• Support certification activities and ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards.
• Develop and implement mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions to reduce defects.
• Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
• Participate in NPI and product launches to incorporate quality requirements.
• Develop standardized work instructions and process controls.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to support operators and resolve issues.
