Job summary

nVent in Blaine, MN is seeking a Quality Engineer II for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM) at our climate-controlled facility. You will represent the Quality function, liaise with customers, and ensure products meet the highest standards for performance and reliability across the Data Center Solutions value stream.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and suppliers, drive Six Sigma and APQP activities, manage MRB and NCRs, and support First Article

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing or Quality processes.
  • CQE, CMQ, CQA or ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor training preferred.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean and quality systems.
  • Experience with optical, multi-sensor, and scanning inspection equipment.
  • Experience across multiple manufacturing sites.

**2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM. Brand new, climate controlled facility**

As a Quality Engineer II, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our Data Center Solutions value stream delivers products that meet the highest standards for performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.


What you will experience in this position:


  • Represent the Quality function and act as a primary liaison with customers, building strong relationships and confidence in our processes.

  • Facilitate customer engagement at multiple levels, partnering proactively to address concerns and align on quality expectations.

  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across manufacturing, engineering, operations, and suppliers — both inside and outside the organization.

  • Support production teams to ensure high‑quality, compliant products are delivered consistently and in accordance with established processes.

  • Lead and participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, driving timely disposition and corrective actions Manage internal non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and external quality issues, including customer complaints, from identification through resolution.

  • Evaluate suspect or nonconforming materials, working with diverse teams to quickly diagnose issues and implement effective corrective actions.

  • Lead quality problem‑solving efforts using Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies, including containment, root cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions.

  • Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product launches, including PFMEAs, Control Plans, GR&R, Capability Studies, and First Article Inspections (FAI).


YOU HAVE:


  • At least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 2+ years of experience with Manufacturing or Quality processes.

  • Quality Certifications such as CQE, CMQ, CQA, and ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor training are strongly preferred.

  • Experience in process improvement, planning, Six Sigma, Lean training, and quality systems.

  • Experience with optical, multi‑sensor, and scanning inspection equipment (preferred).

  • Experience supporting quality initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites (preferred).

Pay Transparency nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.


Compensation Range

$62,900.00 - $116,900.00


Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
