Job summary

Hanwha Power in Jupiter, FL is seeking a Quality Engineer I to support the quality management system and drive continual improvement across production and supplier networks. The role focuses on root cause analysis, audits, and documentation to ensure conformance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.

You will collaborate across Engineering and Operations, assist in QA reporting, and coach staff while maintaining internal controls. Travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years in a quality environment with manufacturing terminology.
• Advanced GD&T understanding in manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 documentation and quality systems.
• Strong organizational, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel upon request.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process concerns.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining the quality management system.
• Drive continual improvement of the quality system and Parts Delivery Network.
• Coordinate internal controls for the Parts Delivery Network.
• Interface with Engineering and Operations for transfer to Production of new products.
• Support Quality Inspectors to ensure compliance with QMS.
• Conduct internal audits and close audit findings with CAPA actions.
• Analyze failures and corrective/preventive actions for customer complaints.
• Create and maintain quality documentation (quality plans, inspection procedures, APQP).
• Prepare QA reports and metrics; train and coach staff as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Quality Engineer I

LOCATION: Jupiter, FL

STATUS: Salary Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Understanding of effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
• Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
• Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system and the Parts Delivery Network.
• Responsible for maintaining Internal Controls and the coordination of all controls for the Parts Delivery Network.
• Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved processes.
• Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
• Conduct internal audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
• Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality plans, inspection procedures, APQP, etc.
• Preparation of QA reports and metrics.
• Training, coaching and redirection of employees and peers as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant field.
• Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix.

Skills/Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a quality environment with understanding of manufacturing terminology and best practices.
• Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing as applied in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements and associated documentation.
• Proven work history in positions requiring organization, attention to detail, accuracy and multi-tasking, and documentation.
• Demonstration of advanced competency in both verbal and written communication.
• Demonstration of advanced competency in problem solving collaboration.
• Proficiency with MS Office Professional.
• Ability to understand and interpret statistics using Minitab, Matlab or similar.
• Ability to travel upon request, with or without advance notice.
