Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Quality Engineer to support successful launches by driving manufacturing quality readiness, risk visibility, issue management, and cross-site alignment throughout the NPD lifecycle.

As a quality liaison between domestic NPD teams and global manufacturing, you will ensure supplier readiness, process controls, fixture readiness, documentation robustness, and production readiness activities with clear visibility and alignment. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, reliability, or related fields.
  • Understanding of quality systems, risk management tools, and problem solving.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, and Corrective Actions.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Reporting to a Manager of Quality / Reliability, the Quality Engineer's primary responsibility is to support the successful launch of new products by driving manufacturing quality readiness, risk visibility, issue management, and cross-site alignment throughout the NPD lifecycle. Working with increasing levels of independence, the QE collaborates with Design Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Operations, and global factory teams to identify manufacturing risks early, support readiness reviews, and help ensure quality concerns are effectively documented, communicated, and resolved.

The QE serves as a quality liaison between domestic new product development teams and global manufacturing organizations, helping to ensure that supplier readiness, process controls, fixture readiness, documentation robustness, and production readiness activities are completed with appropriate visibility and alignment. The role offers opportunities to influence new product development, improve launch quality performance, and drive continuous improvement across global manufacturing operations.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support creation, maintenance, and communication of NPD project quality readiness status, risks, issues, and closure plans.
  • Assist in maintaining project Quality Readiness tracking and ensuring manufacturing quality risks are documented and communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in supplier risk reviews, manufacturing risk reviews, PFMEA reviews, control plan reviews, and production readiness activities.
  • Support development and alignment of production test plans, fixture readiness plans, process controls, and manufacturing quality documentation.
  • Help coordinate quality readiness activities between domestic teams and global factory Advanced Quality Engineering, SQE, AME, and Operations organizations.
  • Track manufacturing, process, supplier, and quality issues identified during builds and support closure activities.
  • Participate in Engineering Builds, Qualification Builds, and Production Readiness reviews and audits.
  • Assist with execution and documentation of process audits, quality audits, and production readiness assessments.
  • Support cross-site communication of lessons learned, process updates, PFMEA updates, PCP updates, and open quality concerns.
  • Prepare project quality summaries, dashboards, status reports, and milestone review content for leadership and project teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, quality system enhancements, and manufacturing risk reduction.
  • Consistent global, onsite engagement critical to success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, reliability, operations, supplier quality, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Understanding of quality systems, risk management tools, process controls, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, Process Audits, and Corrective Action systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across multiple functions and global teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with quality, manufacturing, or data-analysis tools is a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
