Job summary

You will work with customers, suppliers and internal teams, applying 5Why and 8D problem-solving and developing inspection methods and process sampling. You will prepare PPAPs, FMEA, control plans, and related quality documentation; analyze quality costs and interface with engineering, customers and suppliers on quality issues.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customer.
• Works independently or in a team environment on problem solving activities.
• Follows systematic problem-solving methodology: 5Why, 8D, and customer required forms.
• Develops, installs and evaluates process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques.
• Develops or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
• Analyzes production and service limitations and standards.
• Recommends revision of specifications as needed.
• Formulates or helps formulate policies and procedures specific to quality function.
• Must be available and willing to work overtime per day or per week as determined necessary to meet business needs.
• Travel to customers or suppliers.
• Currently trained and conducts training on department specific concepts, tools and testing equipment.
• Quantifies quality costs and develops P.O. when applicable.
• Interfaces with all other engineering components within the company and with customers and suppliers on quality specific issues.
• Prepares PPAPs, FMEA, control plans, and related quality documents.
• Daily reporting on Quality Circle meetings and customer/plant issues.
