Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a Quality Engineer I to drive quality improvements in a manufacturing environment. You will analyze data, lead root cause investigations, and develop robust control plans and PFMEAs, collaborating across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering and Customer Support to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include CAPA implementation, supplier quality support, and assisting with new product introductions and internal audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Quality).
  • 3+ years in Quality Engineering within manufacturing.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methods (8D, A3, DMAIC, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Gauge R&R, Process Capability studies, CAPA systems.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specs, and processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data-analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality data-analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting supplier, customer, and manufacturing quality initiatives.
  • ASQ CQE/CQA or Lean/Six Sigma certs preferred.
  • ISO 9001 or similar QMS knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive measurable improvements in product quality, process performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyze quality data, scrap, rework, warranty, and production metrics to identify trends.
  • Lead root cause investigations using 8D, A3, 5-Why, Fishbone, and DMAIC.
  • Develop PFMEAs, control plans, process capability studies, and SPC programs.
  • Implement CAPA and verify long-term effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Support to resolve quality issues.
  • Support supplier quality initiatives, supplier corrective actions, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Reduce defects through process controls and error-proofing.
  • Investigate customer complaints, field issues, and nonconformance reports; drive permanent corrective actions.
  • Assist with APQP, PPAP, validation activities, and new product introductions.
  • Perform internal audits and support QMS compliance.
  • Track key quality metrics and report on performance and trends.
