Job summary

Wisconsin Metal Tech in Wisconsin is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance in a high-mix precision machining environment. You will work closely with production, engineering, and management and support inspection, calibration, and documentation.

This role requires a practical manufacturing mindset, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced shop. Training opportunities may be available for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gauges, height gauges).
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• CMM operation or programming experience is a plus.
• ISO and internal audit experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements.
• Manage nonconforming material processes including containment, identification, documentation, and rework.
• Support customer return (RMA) activities including ERP transactions, documentation, and coordination of returned material.
• Support supplier quality activities including supplier returns and outside process issue coordination.
• Maintain calibration systems, including gage tracking, calibration records, coordination of outside calibration services, and internal calibration activities.
• Develop and maintain control plans, inspection plans, and related quality documentation in collaboration with engineering and operations.
• Operate CMM equipment as needed. CMM programming experience is not required, training may be available.
• Maintain quality records and documentation in accordance with ISO requirements.
