Job summary

Wisconsin Heavy Fabrication in Manitowoc, WI seeks a Quality Engineer to provide hands-on quality engineering support for fabrication, welding, and dimensional compliance. You will partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to drive improvements in FTQ, rework, scrap, and customer issues while maintaining a strong presence on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is a plus.
• Associate degree or technical certification with relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on quality engineering support on the shop floor and with fabrication operations.
• Collaborate with operators, leads, supervisors, production, and engineering to resolve quality issues at the source.
• Review drawings, weld requirements, and customer specs to ensure conformance.
• Apply GD&T to evaluate dimensional needs and establish inspection methods.
• Support development of inspection requirements, control plans, and standardized work.
• Identify opportunities to prevent defects through better process controls.
