Job summary
Silgan Closures in Evansville, IN is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team. You will support operations, drive quality improvements, and ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements through data-driven decision making.
Key responsibilities include applying SPC, Process Capability, DOE, and RCA; performing inspections with metrology tools; developing inspection methods and maintaining QA processes; and leading corrective actions and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
- Experience in quality/manufacturing/process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of SPC, Process Capability, and DOE.
- Experience with SQF/ISO or similar quality systems.
- Leadership experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing operations to drive quality improvements and ensure products meet requirements.
- Apply SPC, Process Capability Analysis, DOE, and RCA to improve processes.
- Evaluate and optimize processes and products using data-driven decisions.
- Perform dimensional inspections and testing with metrology tools.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations based on analysis.
- Develop and maintain inspection methods, gauging systems, and procedures.
- Support calibration and maintenance of QA equipment.
- Guide quality inspectors in testing and problem solving.
- Assist with SQF and Quality Management Systems compliance.
- Lead corrective action and continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, R&D, and services to solve quality concerns.
- Automate quality inspection processes to improve efficiency.
