Job summary

Advantest is seeking a Quality Engineer for our Lake Forest, CA site. You will drive quality improvements through issue closures and design/process reviews, handling cases from production, field, and group companies.

The role requires a Bachelor's or higher in electrical/Mechanical or related tech and 5+ years in quality/engineering/R&D, with strong failure analysis and PCB/PCBA knowledge. Onsite position with cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in electrical/Mechanical and/or technology fields with 5+ years' experience in quality, engineering, or R&D.
• Solid experience in failure analysis on electrical components is highly valued.
• Knowledge in PCB/PCBA production and semiconductor production is preferred.
• Effective and open-minded communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teams.
• Mid-advanced skills in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, List, Power BI).
• Motivated to improve quality assurance capabilities.
• Strong planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with IPC quality standards and data tool design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of processes and control documents to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in MRB activities and balance quality improvements with production time.
• Use issue databases and Power BI for trend analysis and tracking to drive actions.
• Identify process inefficiencies, quality risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Investigate and drive resolution of quality issues from production, suppliers, and customers.
• Support root cause investigations, corrective/preventive actions, and effectiveness verification.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, Operations, and PM to resolve quality issues.
