Job summary

HSM is seeking a Quality Engineer to enhance product and process quality through data analysis and practical problem solving. You will apply PFMEAs, Control Plans, and layered process audits to drive improvements across multiple locations and suppliers.

Responsibilities include supporting APQP/PPAP activities, reviewing supplier documentation, and leading root-cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa methods. Will travel up to 30% for audits and launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years in Quality Engineering, preferably in automotive/high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA 6.3 requirements.
• Experience supporting quality systems, audits, and customer-specific requirements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T, and use inspection criteria.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain quality systems aligned with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA 6.3.
• Create/maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, and layered process audits.
• Analyze scrap, first-pass yield, PPM, and other metrics for improvements.
• Support Material Review Board and resolve nonconforming material.
• Review supplier PPAP submissions, quality documentation, and launch risks.
• Track supplier performance and coordinate corrective actions.
