Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer at our Warren, RI facility. The role promotes the Quality Management System, oversees audits, and drives continual process improvement. You will coordinate with Quality Technicians on product release testing and manage non-conformities.

We require a background in mechanical engineering, the ability to read blueprints, and strong problem-solving skills. Local Rhode Island candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or manufacturing in a regulated industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• ASQ/SAE certifications and related training are preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal and external audits; train new internal-audit team members and outline audit plans.
• Review, revise, create, and implement Quality Management System processes and procedures.
• Develop data collection processes to detect trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee product release testing with Quality Control Technicians; ensure conformance to customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain on vendor quality issues and supplier performance.
