Job summary

Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is seeking a Quality Engineer for our City of Industry, CA location. Join a growing aerospace/manufacturing leader with a strong benefits package and opportunities for overtime.

You will develop and advance CPP's quality systems, interpret drawings and specs, and interact with customers to resolve quality concerns. The role emphasizes audits, continuous improvement, data analysis, and rigorous product compliance in casting manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or 3–5 years in quality systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication required
  • Knowledge of ISO-9000 and lean manufacturing principles

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and advance CPP quality systems, procedures, and practices
  • Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications, reports and basic GD&T knowledge
  • Communicate with customers to resolve/address quality system concerns/inquiries
  • Routinely audit production lots for adherence to techniques and to ensure repeatability of results
  • Participate in customer/external audits including preparation, guidance and closure
  • Active participation in continuous improvement efforts
  • Quality enforcement of casting manufacturing processes; drive improvements to meet/exceed customer expectations
  • Support identification of process yield issues using data analysis (statistical, DOE, 6 Sigma)
  • Generate quality shipment documentation including certificates of conformance
  • Drive closure of corrective/preventive actions and customer returns/inquiries
  • Manage resolution of non-conforming materials/processes
  • Interact with NDT personnel to ensure product compliance
  • Develop internal job instructions and maintain records
  • Support Gage R&R studies, process capability, SPC, correlation and other data analytics
  • Familiar with FMEA, Control Plan and PPAP documentation

Quality Engineer - Aerospace / Manufacturing (City of Industry, CA)

Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join our City of Industry team! This is a great opportunity to join a growing company that has been in business for over 30 years! Salary Rate: $100K - $120K

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Develop,maintain, and advanceCPPquality systems, procedures,and practices
  • Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications,reportsand basic working knowledge of GD&T
  • Communicate with customers to resolve/address quality system concerns/inquires
  • Routinelyaudit production lots for adherence toestablishedtechniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results
  • Participation during customer/external audits including preparation,guidanceand closure
  • Active participation in continuous improvement efforts
  • Responsiblefor quality enforcement of casting manufacturing process. Continuous improvement of process/productsuch thatcastings meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Support the identification of process yield issues using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process that are notmaintainedin a controlled fashion
  • Generate quality shipment documentation including certificates of conformance and other quality audit checklists
  • Drive closure of preventative/corrective actions, customer returns/inquires
  • Manage resolution of non-conforming material/processes
  • Interact with CPP NDT level III personnel to ensure product compliance
  • Good written communication skills arerequiredto develop internal job instructions
  • Support Gage R&R studies, process capability, SPC, correlation and other data related statistical activities
  • Familiar with FMEA, Control Plan and PPAP documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Engineering or 3-5 years of applicable experience (quality systems, and/or training)
  • Strong communicationskills (written and verbal), PCskillsand program management skills
  • Knowledge of quality systems, auditing practices, Six Sigma principles, and Lean Manufacturing
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and documentation skills
  • The successful candidate’s career will show increasing levels of responsibility
  • Motivated individual with data driven problem solving techniques.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of ISO-9000 Standards
  • Well versed with mechanical,castingandproblem-solvingtechniques
