Description

Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace/defense and advanced manufacturing firms with staffing services nationally for over 65 years. Our Sacramento aerospace client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their organization as a direct salaried employee. The salary range for this position is $120K - $130K with some flexibility possible. There is also a Sr. QE position available in their San Jose region plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product, process, equipment, and method issues during product development and manufacturing.
  • Lead and support actions to prevent and reduce costs associated with poor quality.
  • Maximize product conformance to requirements while ensuring manufacturability.
  • Develop standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, design, testing, and integration to ensure quality.
  • Design sampling procedures and develop forms for recording and reporting quality data.
  • Evaluate the precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment.
  • Review design documentation for compliance with quality requirements.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data and evaluate processes.
  • Review purchased products for acceptance and provide vendor feedback.
  • Document all quality activities in accordance with company policies.
  • Develop innovative solutions during quality activities.
  • Communicate significant issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Prepare reports and present technical information to team and management.
  • Supervise quality team members and maintain knowledge of industry standards.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a highly regulated industry (aerospace, medical device, defense).
  • At least 2 years of experience with electronics or electromechanical manufacturing.
  • Ability to obtain a future government secret clearance (ITAR facility).

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of QE experience.
  • AS9100 certification.
  • CMM inspection programming.
  • GD&T knowledge.
  • PCBAs and IPC-610 certification is a plus.
