Job summary

Trojan Battery Company is seeking a Quality Engineer in Indiana to coordinate and implement robust control plans for products and components, applying 6 Sigma tools to assess root causes and reduce process variation across manufacturing and supplier networks.

You will lead quality audits, develop training, and collaborate with Sr. engineers to drive corrective actions, RCCA plans, and sampling schemes, ensuring ISO-like standards and lean principles are embedded in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in technical or scientific field or equivalent experience.
• Experience interpreting drawings and first article inspection results.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Lean and COQ concepts.
• Proficiency with basic Six Sigma tools.
• Knowledge of ISO/QS quality system concepts.
• Ability to mentor others on quality improvements.

Responsibilities

• Use total quality management tools and approaches to other company departments for analytical and reporting processes within respective department.
• Conduct quality audits to ensure continuous control over materials/products/processes, as well as conformance to business processes affecting quality.
• Drive, lead, and mentor process improvement activities, along with participation on teams.
• Customer Complaint Process; Trend analysis, Monthly Reports, corrective actions
• Work directly with the Sr. Quality Engineer on supplier quality performance for all purchased parts for company production use.
• Develop and conduct required quality training programs to key personnel.
• Implement and follow quality system standards, policies, and procedures.
• Support engineering efforts of analytical laboratory equipment and assist in the development and validation of manufacturing equipment, and processes.
