Job summary

TEKsystems is recruiting for a Software Quality Engineer in Cupertino, CA. The role is a fully onsite contract position focusing on software testing, test automation, and quality improvements.

You will work with cross-functional teams across regions to enhance testing processes and automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in a testing role, Python experience (Swift a bonus), and a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or Software Quality Engineer.
• Experience programming or scripting in Python; Swift is a bonus.
• Hands-on experience with test planning, test design, test case authoring, manual testing, and using test automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Perform software integration testing, functional testing, and test automation.
• Analyze and diagnose test failures, defects, and quality issues.
• Design, develop, and automate new test cases.
• Escalate and report key quality issues, driving root-cause analysis and resolution.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or Software Quality Engineer.
• Experience programming or scripting in Python
  • Bonus: Experience with Swift
• Hands‑on experience with test planning, test design, test case authoring, manual testing, and using test automation frameworks
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in AI product testing, dataset collection, and metrics reporting
• Ability to write shell scripts and familiarity with Xcode
• Ability to modify existing iOS applications or automation code
• Strong ability to analyze and identify root causes in multi-tiered, client–server environments
• Knowledge of logging systems, analytics tools, or monitoring systems
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Self‑motivated, curious, proactive, and focused on delivering high-quality results
• Experience with virtual assistants, voice platforms, or conversational technologies is a plus

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cupertino, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
