Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; CQE may be considered.
  • Mid-level QA/quality engineering experience (4–6 years).
  • Strong GD&T and blueprint reading knowledge.
  • Familiar with QSR and ISO regulations.
  • Experience with design assurance and FMEA.
  • Experience using optical comparators and CMMs.

Job description

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality assurance activities and ensure that products conform to established requirements, specifications, and industry standards. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders to support quality objectives through audits, inspections, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure products conform to established quality requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Perform and support quality audits, inspections, testing, and other quality assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and implement improvements.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal departments, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Apply knowledge of QSR and ISO regulations to support compliance and quality system requirements.
  • Participate in design assurance activities, including risk analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Support product testing and evaluation activities.
  • Utilize quality inspection and measurement tools, including optical comparators and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Ensure quality activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
Must-Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. An alternative Bachelor’s degree combined with a Quality Engineer certification may also be considered.
  • Relevant experience in quality engineering or quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of QSR and ISO regulations.
  • Experience with design assurance, FMEA, and product testing methods.
  • Experience using measurement and inspection equipment such as optical comparators and CMMs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, results orientation, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
  • Experience within the medical device industry.
  • Experience within the orthopedic device industry.
  • Experience working with suppliers, regulatory agencies, or other external quality stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated potential for professional growth and future leadership opportunities.
