WorkWave Staff is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist based in Falconer, New York. The successful candidate will support the overall plant quality system while working with suppliers and customers to meet organizational objectives for product development.

This role requires at least 5 years in a quality function within manufacturing and knowledge of ISO standards. Candidates will develop SOPs and perform audits while ensuring compliance, making this a crucial part of ensuring quality in our operations.

To effectively support the overall plant quality system as well as working with suppliers and customers to meet company objectives for new product development and improvement of existing product lines. Effectively analyze problems and provide solutions internally and to our external customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creation of quality documents and development of Standard Operating Procedures for manufacturing.
• Maintain and revise Quality Assurance Procedures and Instructions as necessary to assure ISO 9001 and AS9100 registration.
• Perform internal audits and identify quality system improvements to ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100D).
• Identify and determine quality requirements necessary to meet customer needs and expectations.
• Work closely with manufacturing staff to ensure quality protocols are followed and documentation is currently maintained. In addition, implement any new changes or adaptations based on a quality review.
• Complete and submit First Article Inspection documents to customers.
• Maintain and effectively apply knowledge of statistical process control concepts such as variation, control, and process capability.
• Investigate non-conformances and assist manufacturing and engineering teams in determining effective corrective actions.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a quality function within a manufacturing environment. Combination of Engineering, Inspection and Document Control.
• Bachelor degree in Quality Management, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar Engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100D.
• Knowledge in statistical process control concepts such as variation, stability, and process capability.
• Experience in the metal cutting industry.
• Use of dimensional inspection tools and coordinate measurement machines.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Minitab, PC-DMIS, MeasurLink, Unipoint Quality modules.
• Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Detail oriented and ability to multitask.
• Time management skills. Ability to prioritize and work under strict timelines.
• Logical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Researching standards for quality provisions.
• Six Sigma experience and/or ASQ CQE.
• Background in defense, aerospace, or automotive industries.
