Rust-Oleum Corporation in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide technical support for the corporate quality team and lead the Product Complaint Review (PCR) process.

You will work with plant, R&D and manufacturing to drive continuous improvement, analyze consumer data, and implement robust quality processes across the organization.

The role reports to the Manager, Corporate Quality and involves cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 0-3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting or equivalent process industry
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical and/or Mechanical preferred) or Chemistry
• Proficient in MS Office, Statistical analysis (Minitab, etc)
• SAP experience desirable; Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methods beneficial

Responsibilities

• Work with plant and corporate quality teams on management of quality projects and new product launches.
• Risk assessments on new product launches.
• Design and implementation of new quality processes.
• Statistical assessments of process capabilities and identification of opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze product complaint data, identify opportunities for improvement and work across cross-functional teams to drive improvements.
• In depth analysis of customer complaint data in Excel, identification of poorly performing products and engagement with brand and R&D teams to drive improvements.
• Support day-to-day management of quality incidents through data analysis and root cause analysis.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for the corporate quality team.The role will work with our internal quality teams to work on continuous improvement activities as well as supporting new product activities.They will take leadership of our Product Complaint Review (PCR) process, where they will analyze consumer complaint data and identify opportunities for improvement in our products that will drive improved customer and consumer satisfaction.This individual will work closely with our corporate and plant quality teams, as well as manufacturing and R&D.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical and/or Mechanical preferred) or Chemistry
• Proficient in MS office, Statistical analysis (Minitab, etc).
• SAP experience desirable.
• Nice to have: Experience in lean, six sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Possible travel up to 30%

Salary Target Range: $80,000 - 95,000, bonus eligible
