  • Perform and communicate required PPAPs and associated documents to support customer requirements.
  • Conduct Random Process Audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Investigate quality issues and provide root cause analysis and corrective actions, with timely communication.

Summary

The Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of product/service quality. The position is responsible for developing and implementing quality control processes, conducting inspections, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. Must be detail-oriented with a passion for quality assurance and problem-solving.

  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Work to ensure the overall quality of manufactured products. Test processes, monitor quality standards, create documentation, devise quality tests, and define the criteria test results should meet. Monitor the quality of processes and play a key role in resolving issues when they arise.
  • Create quality practices, work instructions (QWIs) and relevant documentation for products and processes to verify that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials, and processes within our Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Perform and communicate required PPAPs and associated documents to support and meet customer requirements.
  • Conduct Random Process Audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations and verify QWI's are accurate and being followed. Revise QWI's as required.
  • Investigate quality issues and outages and work with responsible department personnel to identify Root Cause & Corrective Actions. Provide exceptional and timely communication to internal personnel assisting in the resolution. Requires research and documentation for trending and root cause analysis. Follow up to verify Corrective Actions are still implemented and effective.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure raw materials and component parts meet company and customer quality standards.
  • Make customer and supplier visits as required.
  • Complete tasks as directed by the Quality Director with minimum supervision.
  • Provide training and support to team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
  • Quality and/or lean experience is preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Following established SOP's and Work Instructions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to interpret company paperwork, part numbers, labels and packing lists. Use of production/operational software required.
  • Must be able to create and develop appropriate documentation using Microsoft Office products, Epicor Business system, and or other prescribed software. Advanced Excel is beneficial.
  • Must be proficient in communication – both oral and written. Must be highly organized to oversee various open items and track them through our system to completion.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking 8-10 hours depending on the task.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 50lbs., on occasion.
  • The use of approved Safety Glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots are required. Gloves may be required depending on certain tasks assigned.
