Job summary

Exel Med in California is seeking a QA/Quality Assurance specialist to review product specs and design, devise testing methods, and implement inspection equipment to ensure conformity with standards.

You will conduct QA tests, perform statistical analysis on nonconforming products, and manage reports while coordinating with development and product teams. Strong detail-orientation and ISO/EU standards knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Professional certifications (preferred)
  • 10+ years of equivalent work experience would be considered
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and testing standards

Responsibilities

  • Review and thoroughly understand product functional and design specifications
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
  • Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment
  • Conducts quality assurance tests
  • Performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of, and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
  • Performs defect analysis utilizing experience in statistical quality process analytical methods
  • Prepares and maintains reports; manages documentation control systems
  • Reviews returned material and verifies customer complaints; develops action plans to address discrepancies; communicates with customers as required
  • Communicates and resolves QA issues with operators/technicians on a day-to-day basis
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
  • Investigates developments in quality assurance codes and standards
  • Document Test Cases
  • Interpret Technical and Business Objectives and Challenges
  • Ability to Work Independently and in a Team-Based environment
  • Work Closely with Development and Product Teams
  • Attention to Detail and think outside of the box
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Discover bugs within software
  • Improving product quality by making recommendations for change
  • Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree in engineering preferred, Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Professional certifications, or 10+ years of equivalent work experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in quality assurance environment required
  • Communication skills, Knowledge if SQL and scripting
  • Knowledgeof various QA/ Testing tools
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and EU standards
  • Analytical Thinking
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communications
  • MDR experience a plus.
