Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, Oak Ridge, TN, is seeking a Quality Engineer focused on PCBA and electro-mechanical systems. You will strengthen processes, lead defect-reduction initiatives, and drive audit-ready compliance across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.

You thrive on solving complex quality issues with data-driven improvements and will manage CAPA, PFMEA, FAI, and supplier quality activities in a hands-on, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving & RCA leadership required.
• Experience with ISO 9001, CAPA, SPC, and supplier quality.
• 5+ years in manufacturing/PCBA assembly quality.
• Data-driven mindset and cross-functional communication.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Advantage: ASQ CQE or Lean Six Sigma.
• Advantage: IPC standards (A‑610, J‑STD‑001) and ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve a QMS aligned to ISO 9001:2015.
• Develop inspection plans for manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Analyse yield, scrap, rework, and defect trends to drive improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, FTA) and manage CAPA/FACAR.
• Own incoming inspection and guide QC personnel.
• Partner with PCBA suppliers; drive SCARs and performance gains.
• Support NPI (PFMEA, validation, FAI).
• Advance Lean/Six Sigma efforts and reduce COPQ.
• Track KPIs and present data-driven insights.
• Enable cross-functional alignment on quality standards.
