Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking an automotive or manufacturing quality inspector to perform dimensional and visual inspections of products during production. You will use fixture gauges, calipers, and height gauges to ensure conformance, maintain measurement equipment, and document nonconforming material with proper sign-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs dimensional and visual inspections of products to ensure conformance with specifications (First Piece Acceptance, Last piece inspection and comparisons, in-process inspections).
  • Inspects products using fixture gauges, calipers, height gauge, etc., taking measurements during production.
  • Maintains fixture gauges and measuring equipment and reports discrepancies to quality manager.
  • Processes documentation including process tags, rework tags and nonconforming material documents.
  • Works under direct supervision and follows instructions and techniques.
  • Communicates with oncoming and outgoing shifts for smooth transitions.
  • Reports nonconforming material with proper sign-offs to shift supervisor and quality manager.
  • Ensures nonconforming product is identified and placed in hold area.
  • Maintains safety, cleanliness, and orderly work areas.
  • Logs job time daily and completes lockout/tagout training.
  • Follows PPE requirements and all company and safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms dimensional and visual inspections of products to ensure conformance with specifications (First Piece Acceptance, Last piece inspection and comparisons, in-process inspections).Inspects products (using fixture gauges, calipers, height gage, etc.) taking measurements and performing visual inspection at each machine as production is in process.Maintains fixture gages and measuring equipment making sure it is suitable for use, and reporting any discrepancies to quality manager.Process associated documentation including process tags, rework tags and nonconforming material documents, training documents and in-process checks.Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques.Communicate with oncoming and outgoing shifts to ensure smooth shift to shift transition.Report all nonconforming material to shift supervisor and quality manager by preparing associated documentation and obtaining necessary sign-offs.Ensure nonconforming product is properly identified and placed in hold area.Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.Log job time, daily.Appropriate lockout/tagout training.Follow required PPE, and all Company and Safety policies, processes and procedures.Other duties as assigned.Education/Special Knowledge:High School Diploma or GED is required.Experience:2 – years work experience preferred.Excellent organizational & time management skills.Self-Motivated and able to perform duties with minimal supervision.Works well in a team environment.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftOvertimeWeekends as neededWork setting:In-personManufacturing facilityAbility to Relocate:Lapeer, MI 48446: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
